Provisional Path helps inventors prepare and track provisional and non-provisional patent applications. We are built to keep your invention private. This policy explains what we collect and why.
No account. Provisional Path has no sign-in. We don't collect your name or email. We never sell your data.
Your invention content. Your idea text, drafts, and scanned documents are processed by Apple Intelligence, on your device or on Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which Apple designs so that your data is not stored or visible to Apple. Preliminary patent searches send your query text to our secure backend to look up public patent records; we do not use your invention content to train models or share it with third parties.
Usage. Your filing dates and progress are stored on your device to run reminders and the deadline countdown. Documents you scan (e.g., USPTO notices, receipts), photos you turn into drawings, and the filing documents the app makes stay on your device until you choose to share them.
To provide the app: run searches, generate drafts and filing documents, track your 12-month deadline, and deliver reminders. To operate your subscription (handled by Apple). To provide support you request.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. You manage or cancel your subscription in the app's Settings or your Apple ID settings.
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers that run our infrastructure (e.g., our database/hosting) under confidentiality, and when required by law. Public USPTO patent data used for searches is already public.
Your work stays on your device; deleting the app removes it. For questions, contact us below.
